Don’t buy this “book”

I thought this was a novel, did not realize it is two short stories. They are poorly written, I don’t think S. King had anything to do with these.

Short and sweet

This book wasn't bad. It was no where near Kings best, but it got the job done. I felt like king had more story to tell, but suppressed his imagination for some odd reason. The story attached "1922" was by far a better story. Again not Kings best or close to it, but still read worthy.

Great Short Story!

I read this when it was originally published and it's an awesome quick read. For those of you complaining, it does state that this was previously in a collection of short stories. Stephen King is the king of short stories.

Poorly written and unimaginative

This story seemed like Stephen King was busy but needed to get a story to the publisher and threw this one together. Most of the story is told and not shown, which is a boring technique. Don't waste your money on this one.

I had not read a Stephen King book in a while, but glad I pick this one, it was a good book, kept you on the edge of my seat.

I like short stories...

...which is why I buy the original collections. I hate being bamboozled into buying them a second time. I guess next time I'll research before I purchase, and not just jump when my favorite author's name is waggled under my nose.

I thought this book would be more about the Good Marriage, which I enjoyed. 1922 not so much.

I do hope that Stephen King didn't have a part in this deceptive presentation of two unrelated short stories as a new novel. This was very confusing, and I wish I had not spent the money.

Buyer Beware!

All Apple would have to do is insert a simple note that this IS NOT a new work by King...... But noooooooooo - that did not happen and many unsuspecting King fans - after starting the book - now feel ripped off - and they have been. Hey Stevo - you should pull out your fat check book and reimburse all who fell for this cheap marketing ploy!

Even though this is a pretty good read, I have purchased this in hardback LONG ago. This is kinda deceptive.

Great story!

The other reviewers calling this a scam obviously didn't bother to read the description. It clearly states this story was originally part of the short story collection "Full Dark No Stars" It isn't Mr King's fault they are unhappy, it's their own. The story is a great "what if". What if your husband, your lover and life time partner was really a killer? What would you do? I highly recommend it.

Good Marriage

I always read a sample and realized it was from an earlier book Mr. King had written. Didn't fall for the outright decieving way the new Publisher made it out to be a new book. There is another author in this venue DK that has been doing it for at least 10 years. I to have read every book he's written for around 36 years. Surprises me that he's now doing this. Very disappointed!

This was marketed as being a new book. It is not. This story was in Full Dark, No Stars. So don't get taken like I did. Read the summary/description! I just wasted five bucks because I didn't take the time to read it.

Rip-off

An old book of King's being marketed as new. Money should be refunded to all who purchased this "book". Lost all respect for Stephen King - who's already rich beyond belief. Charging $5 for old work which most of his fans have already read. And Apple should be ashamed as well. Furthermore, all reviews shown are one star - how does that average into a 3 star rating?

This is not new

I don't know who came up with the idea to con money out of readers by promoting these retreads as new, but they should be beaten about the head with one of those giant hardback dictionaries. (Thank goodness got that aggression out😇.) It's an extra step, but if it's an established author - Stephen King, James Patterson, for example - and only $5.99 or so my radar goes up. I do a search by name or maybe amazon for the date. It seems Apple could add a line to the book details - date originally published.

This is a reprint, not a new work

I didn't realize these two stories had been previously published in "Full Dark No Stars" - which I had already bought and already read. These are good stories but I thought the marketing was deceptive
